The Grey Havens Group
We created The Grey Havens Group in October 2010 in Longmont, Colorado as a way to bring people together to talk about Middle-earth, celebrate it, re-imagine it and keep it alive in our hearts and minds.
We are both an official Tolkien Society Smial and a Mythopoeic Society Discussion Group.
We meet once a week to discuss the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and twice a month, at our special Inklingsiana meetings, we discuss the works of The Oxford Inklings and talk about fantasy literature in general.
We frequently host events that are open to the community and maintain a free Inklings-themed lending library at Barbed Wire Books, Longmont’s largest and finest used book store.
Our number one goal in Grey Havens is the formation and development of friendships. Our philosophy is similar to Hobbits – happiness, good cheer, food and camaraderie (and not too much work).
For more information about the group and its activities, email us at greyhavensgroup@gmail.com.
“A star shines on the hour of our meeting.”
The Godric’s Hollow Group
Too old to receive your Hogwarts letter? This is like Hogwarts for grown-ups! Whether you grew up with the books or are new to J.K. Rowling’s works, join us for a magical discussion of a magical world.
Must be at least 18.
We meet on the first and third Mondays of every month at 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Barbed Wire Books, 504 Main St. in Longmont.
